Andrew Tippett
Director of Theatre

Mr. Tippett has dedicated most of his life to the theatre, bringing passion and expertise to every role he undertakes. A proud graduate of Frankfort High School, he was actively involved in drama program as a student. His journey in theatre began in first grade when he joined the tech crew for our annual production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”

Since the 2011-2012 school year, he has been the Director of Theatre at Frankfort Independent Schools. Currently, he also serves on the Board of Directors for the Bluegrass Theatre Guild. Over the years, he has contributed to more than 50 productions both on and off stage.

A 2004 Drama graduate of Governor’s School for the Arts, Andrew also holds a BA in Communication/Media & Political Science from Georgetown College and a Master’s in Teaching from the University of the Cumberlands.

Karen Hatter 
Director Emeritus 

Mrs.  Hatter has over 30 years experience as a theatre educator. She served over 20 years as the Director of Theatre at Frankfort High where she also served as an English teacher prior to her retirement in 2010. She continues to serve in an advisory capacity to the program. She also occasionally serves as a guest director. Most recently, Mrs. Hatter directed the drama club’s production of “The Secret Garden”.
